Dr. Hinkel was born and raised in Lafayette and attended Jefferson High School, then completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Indiana University. After graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1981, he returned to Lafayette to start his practice of dentistry. In addition to his private practice, for several years he worked as part-time instructor at the IU Dental School teaching and mentoring dental students.
Dr. Hinkel practices total dental care with a special interest in restoring dental implants. He has always been involved in the Lafayette community and is a member of the West Central Dental Society, Indiana Dental Association and American Dental Association.
Dr. Hinkel is married to his wife, Debbie, and has three grown children. Outside the office, he is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys almost any outdoor activity and spending time with his family.
